Which one is yours?

No logo yet.

Start with Logo design. You get three different directions, not three colorways. Pick one and we refine it over two rounds. If you’ll also need cards, a sign and a Facebook page next month, the kit saves you from choosing colors and fonts three more times.

There’s a logo, and it looks rough.

Pixelated, faded, a JPEG somebody’s nephew made. The refresh redraws it as vector and cleans up the spacing. It’s still your logo. A different logo is Logo design, not a refresh.

The logo’s fine. The brand is scattered.

Three blues, two fonts, the logo stretched on the van. Guidelines pull what you already have into one PDF and don’t change the logo.

What’s in the file set

Every logo comes as SVG, EPS, PDF and PNG, each in three versions: full color, one-color, and reversed for dark backgrounds.

SVG
Vector. Scales to a billboard or a favicon. What your web person and sign shop want first.
EPS
Older vector format. Some printers and embroiderers still ask for it.
PDF
Vector, opens anywhere, safe to send to a printer.
PNG
For slides, Word documents and social profiles.
Full color
The logo as drawn.
One-color
For stamps, vinyl cutting, embroidery and the one-color newsletter ad.
Reversed
White or light on a dark background.

Harborline, as a kit

Harborline Mobile Marine is a made-up boat engine service in Palm Bay. We built a wordmark, a color set, a pattern and a short guide for it, the way the Brand identity kit works.

The business shown is fictional.

How it goes

You pay, send a short brief, and we send first concepts. For a logo, usually 7 to 10 business days later; the brand kit takes 2 to 3 weeks. Both come with three logo concepts. You choose one and send changes, and we make them.

A revision round is one consolidated set of changes, sent together in one message, within the direction we agreed on. A new direction isn’t a revision; ask and we’ll quote it. More changes inside the same direction? That’s an Extra revision round.

When you’ve paid in full, we assign to you the copyright in the final files we deliver. Until then you may review them but not publish them. Drafts, unused concepts, and our own tools and templates stay ours. We show your work in our portfolio only if you say yes in writing.

Three things people ask

Is the name or logo trademarked already?
We don’t run trademark searches or promise that a name or logo can be registered. If you plan to register a mark, talk to a trademark attorney.
Who pays for fonts?
If a typeface needs a paid license, you buy it in your own name, and we tell you which one it is. We can choose open-license fonts if you’d rather not buy any.
Do I own the files?
Yes, once you’ve paid in full. See the line above, and the terms for the full wording. More answers
